Ten inches

This week I cut ten inches off my hair and donated it to Locks of Love. I love my new hair cut and I love that I was able to give my unwanted hair to someone who needs it.

Getting a free hair cut is also a great perk.

Information on Locks of Love as taken from their website www.locksoflove.org:

"Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics.

Our mission is to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children. The children receive hair prostheses free of charge or on a sliding scale, based on financial need."

Cool company right? I'm so thankful to be able to give to a good cause.

Check out my cute new hair!

  1. Pantene's Beautiful Lengths is another charity that makes wigs from donated hair. They only require 8 inches, which is nice, and they don't have the controversy surrounding them about selling some of the donated hair (which Locks of Love does). I've donated to both organizations, though. Only about an inch away from my next cut! :)
